I Smell A Fish

There is something fishy going on here tonight. My in laws have just sneaked out of the house at 10.45pm and told no one where they were going. We didn't even know they were gone until I walked upstairs to go to bed and went to thank my mother in law for watching the kids for us tonight. Very suspicious.....

They are like that you know. They are secretive people. Christmas time is the peak of their secretive behavior. Mark my word.

Team Edward or Jacob?

Yes, we did.

And I will probably be one of the few to show descent, but I thought it was just average. But then, I haven't been a huge fan of the books. Yes, I read them all and yes, in record time. However, I didn't find the writing to be particularly compelling or intellectual. Captivating, yes. The most thrilling part was the Vulturi. Chris thought the action in this one was better; specifically the wolves. His exact words were, the movie wasn't as bad as the movie experience. The theater, Spring Valley, isn't the best, however it is the only one around here. There were lines flickering around on the screen, the curtains weren't all the way open to show the complete screen and the temperature in the theater had to have been around 65 degrees.

But, let's look on the positive side. It was a date night for Chris and I and that was wonderful. Not that I didn't think about my children, but it was nice to be away and do something with just Chris for a few hours.

Anyway, Eliza is sleeping away, I hope for the night and the boys will be heading that way soon - I hope.

Oh, and Chris is Team Jacob and I am Team Edward.

Monday, Monday

It was a typical Monday here in the metropolis of Point Pleasant. The boys got ready and went to work with PawPaw. They are thrilled to play with Billy, jump from bean bag to bean bag and play with this Frosty the Snowman. He is motion activated and dances and sings.

And Chris and I were home with baby. It was very quiet. Ahhh.....a girl can really start to breathe deeper in this kind of quiet.

We got ready and headed out to the store to say hello.

Baby is having a great time seeing lots of different people and everyone talking to her. I think she likes being the center of attention.

Next was lunch at Bob Evan's and a quick trip to Kmart. Chris and I only had baby with us all day. Talk about a piece of cake. Quiet and definitely low stress. Not much goes on in this little town, which is just how I like it.

We may be in for the night which would be fine by me. Heck, sometime this week Chris and I may even get a little crazy and go see a movie. And I mean a movie that is not animated or rated G. The possibilities are endless. :-)

Ah....We Made It....

We got here today around 4pm and it was so nice to be out of the car. Here are some pictures of our adventure.

This is just over the NC line. Roads are still really good. Air is dry. Sun is out.

Almost to Wytheville. It was smooth sailing up until then.

When we got around the second toll booth is where it was probably the worst. And not really that bad, we have definitely driven up here once that I can think of that the weather was A LOT worse, but still when you have three small children in the car any bad weather seems bad.

We had yummy chili for dinner and then MiMi and PawPaw took the boys to see a live nativity and Christmas lights. They made a quick stop at Grandma Bordman's house and then back home to settle in for the night.

So glad to be here.

2 Hours Into It

We made it to Winston Salem and are staying with Chris's brother Chad for tonight. We had a delicious meatloaf thanks to Aunt Jan's recipe, corn, green beans, potatoes and rolls. The holiday funfetti cupcakes for dessert. It was all yummy!

The roads are clear over here, although probably icy tonight. We are planning on leaving tomorrow around 11am or so and hopefully making it to Pt Pleasant. Last we heard traffic was moving on the turnpike, so it should be ok by mid day tomorrow. I will try to post tomorrow evening when we get settled.

Look how big she is getting! I can hardly believe she has been with us now for 5 months!

And I would so totally do it again. Thankfully - modern medicine has prevented that now. ;-)

Rollin', Rollin', Rollin'

No pictures tonight because I have been consumed with laundry and packing in the hopes that we may actually get to leave sometime tomorrow, although I am not holding my breath. But I did want to pop in and tell you a cute story from today. I put Eliza down on the floor in her room in front of her playmat and I was in and out of her room getting things together, bringing the clothes from the laundry room to her room to fold, etc. And I had walked out for about 5 minutes or less and came back and when I first walked in her room I didn't see her. Huh??? Where is she?? The boys were upstairs so I knew they hadn't done anything (shocker, I know!). Then I walked around her closet door (I had left her closet open) and she had rolled into her closet. Ha! She smiled real big when our eyes met because she knew she had really done something. So there you go. Nothing is safe anymore. No more leaving small toys around on the floor. No more leaving her on her changing table unattended to. My life is about to get even busier, if you can imagine that. :-)
