I found another blog the other day talking about rain gutter bookshelves and asked Chris if he would do it in one of the boys rooms so I could see what it looked like.

So he started in Owen's room.

With a lot of help

A lot of "can I do that?" and "is it my turn yet?"

You know....help

But the real help was napping when the project started.

Ah, there she is.

Helping :-)

She loves to be in the middle of everything her daddy and brothers are doing.

Ethan found several books he hasn't seen in quite sometime.

It is so surreal to me that he just picks up books now and starts reading them.

He stumbles on some words and will ask what they are but for the most part he just reads.

And I think it is precious that his brother likes to listen to him.

As for the finished product....I love them!

Chris put them up in Owen's room, Ethan's room and the playroom.

They are able to actually see the books they have and not just the spines tucked away.

I had a diaper box chocked full of books that have been sitting in the sun room since we moved in a year ago that I was able to empty today and put on the shelves. And all for about $30. Cha-Ching! Bargain!

So so cool! I've seen gutters used for ribbon spool holders, too. :0)
